Milan Fischer conducts research on growth and characterization of quantum cascade lasers in the far infrared spectrum within the cleanroom of the FIRST Center for Micro- and Nanoscience run under the supervision of Dr. Silke Schoen.

Timelines

Every proposal is rated on its merits by the Society in Science directorate and strategy committee. Short-listed candidates are invited for personal interviews, to be held in Zurich, Switzerland.

The following timeline applies for the 2014 fellowship intake:

  • January 15, 2014, 11.59 p.m. CET: final deadline for applications via the online form.
  • April 2014: notification and invitation for a personal interview sent to final selection of candidates; notification sent to refused candidates
  • September 1 to December 31, 2014: fellows commence research projects
